“This house was built in 1875. The wooden extension,that we call the ballroom was added in 1878 because the railway had opened and a space was required for the VIPs who had arrived to celebrate. The house has been a private hospital and was once divided into flats before we moved in here in 1972. A lot of interesting buildings in Tamworth were pulled down and replaced with revolting stuff.“
