“We were never taught anything about Australian history when we went to school. We were all made to read the old English and American history books. Nowadays Australian history is coming into the schools and people are starting to realise that we have a heritage of our own. We have school groups who visit and dress up like they did back in time and they are learning about life back in the 1800s.”
